Day 1: Arrival & Explore Kasol Town

Morning: Arrival in Kasol

  • Reach Kasol either by bus, taxi, or personal vehicle. Kasol is well-connected from Bhuntar (31 km away), Manali, and Delhi.
  • Check into your accommodation (choose from guesthouses, hostels, or riverside camps).

Late Morning: Explore the Parvati River & Kasol Market

  • Take a leisurely stroll along the Parvati River and enjoy the serene surroundings.
  • Visit the Kasol market for local handicrafts, woolens, hemp products, and souvenirs.
  • Enjoy a relaxed breakfast or brunch at a popular café like Evergreen Café or Moon Dance Café, known for its Israeli dishes like falafel and hummus.

Day 2: Trekking to Kheerganga

Morning: Begin the Kheerganga Trek

  • Start early (around 7-8 AM) for the Kheerganga trek.
  • The trek is about 12 km long and takes around 5–6 hours to reach the top.
  • Begin at Barshaini, which is about 16 km from Kasol. You can hire a taxi to get there.
  • The trek offers stunning views of the Parvati Valley, passing through forests, rivers, and waterfalls.

Afternoon: Kheerganga Hot Springs

  • Reach Kheerganga, a stunning meadow at 3,050 meters with natural hot springs.
  • Take a dip in the hot springs to relax your muscles after the trek.
  • Explore the surrounding areas or enjoy a picnic in the lush meadow.

Evening: Camp at Kheerganga

  • Set up camp or stay in the basic guesthouses available at the top.
  • Enjoy a peaceful evening under the stars, surrounded by the pristine beauty of the Himalayas.

Day 3: Return to Kasol & Explore Chalal Village

Morning: Trek Back to Kasol

  • After a peaceful night at Kheerganga, have breakfast at one of the local cafés.
  • Begin the return trek to Barshaini.
  • Enjoy the different perspectives of the valley on your way down, and take in the views at your leisure.

Afternoon: Explore Chalal Village

  • Once back in Kasol, take a short trek to Chalal Village, about 30 minutes away.
  • Chalal is known for its laid-back vibe, stunning views, and small cafés.
  • Spend time relaxing in Chalal, interacting with fellow travelers, or enjoying a cup of tea with the mountain view.

Evening: Relax & Depart

  • Return to Kasol in the evening, and spend your last few hours soaking in the calm atmosphere.
  • If time permits, you can explore other small cafes or take a final walk along the Parvati River before heading to your next destination.

Travel Tips for Kasol

  1. Trekking Gear: Pack proper trekking shoes, warm clothes (even in summer), and a rain jacket, as weather can change rapidly.
  2. Local Sim Card: Airtel and BSNL work better in remote areas.
  3. Stay Hydrated: Carry enough water, especially when trekking.
  4. Respect the Local Culture: If visiting villages like Malana, follow the local customs and traditions.
  5. Altitude Awareness: Kasol and its surrounding areas are at a high altitude, so stay hydrated and avoid over-exertion, especially during treks.

  • Tosh Village: Take a day trip to Tosh, a village with panoramic views and a serene environment. It’s about 20 km from Kasol and offers a beautiful experience with local culture.
  • Malana Village: If you’re looking for a more challenging trek, hike to Malana, a village famous for its unique culture and traditions. This requires a day-long trek, and you can combine it with a visit to Chalal.

      • From Bhuntar to Kasol: You can hire a taxi or take a local bus from Bhuntar to Kasol, which will take about 45 minutes.
    • Alternative Airport: Shimla Airport (Jubbarhatti) – 240 km from Kasol.

      • Flights to Shimla are less frequent and are generally used by those coming from northern regions.

    2. By Train

    • Nearest Railway Station: Pathankot Railway Station (150 km away)
      • From Pathankot: You can take a bus or hire a taxi to reach Kasol. The drive takes around 6-7 hours.
    • Other Options:
      • Joginder Nagar Railway Station is closer (about 125 km), but fewer trains are available from major cities to this station.
      • From Joginder Nagar, you can take a taxi or local bus to reach Kasol.
  • 3. By Bus

    • From Delhi to Kasol:

      • Distance: Around 520 km, takes about 12–14 hours.
      • Volvo Buses: Many private bus operators run Volvo and Himachal Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) buses from Delhi, Chandigarh, and Manali to Bhuntar. From Bhuntar, take a local taxi or bus to Kasol.
      • Himachal Pradesh State Transport: HRTC buses run regularly from Manali to Kasol, with a journey time of 1.5 to 2 hours.
    • From Manali to Kasol:

      • Distance: About 75 km, takes 2 hours.
      • Regular buses from Manali to Kasol operate, or you can hire a taxi
