    • Arrive in Shillong, the capital city of Meghalaya.
    • Pick-up from Shillong Airport/Bus Station and begin your journey to Cherrapunji (approximately 2.5-3 hours drive).
  • Afternoon:
    • Check-in at your hotel/resort in Cherrapunji.
    • Relax and have lunch.
  • Evening:
    • Visit the Nohkalikai Waterfall, one of the tallest waterfalls in India.
    • Explore the Seven Sisters Waterfall, a picturesque set of falls that are visible from a vantage point.
    • Enjoy the tranquil evening in the misty hills of Cherrapunji.
  • Morning:
    • Visit Mawsmai Cave, a limestone cave with impressive formations.
    • Stop at Dainthlen Waterfall, where legend says a serpent was killed, adding to its mystical aura.
  • Afternoon:
    • Visit the Living Root Bridges in the nearby villages of Nongriat (a 1-2 hours trek) or Riwai (easier to access). These living root bridges are a unique example of human ingenuity and nature’s cooperation.

  • Evening:

    • Head back to Shillong for departure (4-5 hours drive).

  • The best time to visit Cherrapunji is from October to March, when the weather is pleasant and ideal for sightseeing. The monsoon season (June to September) brings heavy rainfall, which makes the waterfalls more spectacular but can also make some areas difficult to access.

How to Reach:

  • By Air: The nearest airport to Cherrapunji is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, Assam, which is about 150 km away. From there, you can take a taxi or bus to Cherrapunji.
  • By Train: The nearest railway station is Guwahati Railway Station, well-connected to all major cities in India. From the station, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Cherrapunji.
  • By Road: Cherrapunji is well-connected by road, and you can easily reach it from Shillong (about 54 km away). Taxis and buses are available for the scenic drive to Cherrapunji.
