Days Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Cairo

  • Arrival: Fly from India to Cairo, Egypt's capital. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by your guide and transferred to your hotel.
  • Check-in and Relaxation: After checking in at your hotel, relax and recover from the flight.
  • Optional Evening Activity: If you have time and energy, you can visit the Sound and Light Show at the Pyramids of Giza or explore the Khan El Khalili Bazaar for some local shopping and dinner.

Day 2: Cairo to Luxor (Begin the Nile Cruise)

  • Morning: Visit the Pyramids of Giza and the Sphinx, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Then, explore the Egyptian Museum, which houses a vast collection of ancient Egyptian artifacts, including treasures from King Tutankhamun's tomb.
  • Afternoon: After lunch, you will be transferred to Cairo Airport for a flight to Luxor (approximately 1-hour flight).
  • Evening: Arrive in Luxor, where you’ll board your Nile Cruise ship. Settle into your cabin and enjoy dinner on board. In the evening, you can relax or enjoy the onboard entertainment.

Day 3: Luxor – West Bank and East Bank

  • Morning:
    • Visit the Valley of the Kings, where you can explore the tombs of Egypt’s most famous pharaohs, including Tutankhamun.
    • Visit the Temple of Hatshepsut, the mortuary temple dedicated to the only female pharaoh of Egypt.
    • Stop by the Colossi of Memnon, two massive statues that once stood at the entrance of the temple of Amenhotep III.
    • Afternoon:
      • After lunch on the ship, visit the Karnak Temple, one of the largest religious buildings in the world, dedicated to the gods of Egypt.
      • Explore the Luxor Temple, which is beautifully lit at night, though it’s also stunning during the day.
    • Evening: Enjoy dinner on board and relax. Some cruises may offer an evening Nile River party or entertainment.

Day 5: Nile Cruise – Edfu to Kom Ombo to Aswan

  • Morning: Continue sailing towards Kom Ombo.
    • Visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, unique because it is dedicated to two gods: Horus and Sobek (the crocodile god).
  • Afternoon: Resume your journey to Aswan, and arrive by late afternoon. After checking into your ship in Aswan, you can enjoy a relaxing walk along the Nile or visit the local markets.
  • Evening: Have dinner aboard the cruise and enjoy the peaceful Nile atmosphere. Many cruises offer a traditional Egyptian Galabeya party in the evening.

Day 6: Aswan – Abu Simbel (Optional)

  • Morning:
    • Take an early morning excursion to the Abu Simbel temples, built by Pharaoh Ramses II. The temples are located about 3 hours from Aswan, and some cruises offer guided trips to these magnificent structures. Alternatively, visit Philae Temple, dedicated to the goddess Isis, and take a boat ride to get there.
  • Afternoon: After returning to Aswan, visit the Aswan High Dam and the Unfinished Obelisk, a massive ancient granite obelisk that was abandoned when cracks appeared.
  • Evening: Return to the ship for dinner and enjoy your last night on the Nile Cruise, possibly with a farewell party or live entertainment.

Day 7: Departure from Aswan

  • Morning: After breakfast on the cruise, you can visit the Nubian Village to experience the culture of the Nubian people or enjoy a leisurely walk along the Nile in Aswan.
  • Afternoon: Disembark the cruise and transfer to Aswan Airport for your flight back to Cairo or directly to India. If you have a flight via Cairo, you can explore the city more or visit the Coptic Cairo area and its churches before catching your flight home.

    • Flight duration from India to Cairo is typically around 7-8 hours.
    • Once you arrive in Cairo, you can transfer to Luxor either by:
      • Domestic Flight: A direct flight from Cairo to Luxor (1-hour flight).
      • Train: A comfortable, overnight train journey (around 10 hours) from Cairo to Luxor.
      • Bus: Buses are also available, although they can take around 10-12 hours.
