Days Plan

Day 1: Arrival & Exploring Banff Town

  • Morning:
    • Arrival at Calgary Airport, pick-up by Salt and Sea Adventures.
    • Transfer to Banff (about 1.5 hours drive).
    • Check-in at the accommodation (hotel or lodge).
  • Afternoon:
    • Banff Town Exploration: Stroll around the charming streets of Banff.
      • Visit the Banff Avenue for local shops, art galleries, and cafes.
      • Stop by Banff National Park Museum for a quick introduction to the region’s history and wildlife.
  • Evening:
    • Dinner at local restaurant in Banff.
    • Banff Upper Hot Springs: Relax in the natural hot springs, with views of the surrounding mountains.

Day 2: Banff-Lake Louise & Moraine Lake

  • Morning:
    • Early breakfast and depart for Lake Louise (45-minute drive).
    • Lake Louise: Explore the iconic turquoise waters of Lake Louise.
      • Optional activities: Canoeing, guided nature walk, or a scenic hike to Lake Agnes Tea House.
  • Afternoon:
    • Lunch at Lake Louise Village or a picnic by the lake.
    • Moraine Lake: Head to Moraine Lake, another stunning gem in the area.
      • Enjoy the panoramic views of the surrounding peaks.
      • Optional: Hike the Rockpile Trail for a higher vantage point of the lake.
  • Evening:
    • Return to Banff.
    • Dinner and leisure time: Enjoy Banff’s vibrant nightlife or relax at your accommodation.

Day 3: Icefields Parkway & Peyto Lake

  • Morning:
    • Breakfast, then depart for a scenic drive along Icefields Parkway (one of the world’s most beautiful drives).
    • Stop at Bow Lake for photos.
    • Arrive at Peyto Lake for a short hike to the viewpoint.
  • Afternoon:
    • Continue the drive and reach Columbia Icefield.
      • Glacier Adventure: Take the Ice Explorer onto the Athabasca Glacier, or walk on the Skywalk for stunning views.
  • Evening:
    • Return to Banff.
    • Dinner and optional stargazing in the evening. Banff is a designated Dark Sky Preserve.

Day 4:

Adventure Day – Hiking, Wildlife & Lake Johnston

  • Morning:
    • Guided Wildlife Tour: Early morning wildlife watching. Look for bears, elk, bighorn sheep, and other animals in their natural habitat.
  • Afternoon:
    • Hiking options (based on fitness level):
      • Johnston Canyon: A popular and easy hike to beautiful waterfalls.
      • Sulphur Mountain: For stunning views, take the Banff Gondola or hike up.
    • Optional stop for lunch at the Summit of Sulphur Mountain or a nearby café.
  • Evening:
    • Dinner and leisure time. Consider booking a local brewery tour or enjoying a quiet evening in the town.

 

Day 5: Scenic Float & Departure

  • Morning:
    • Scenic Float Trip: Experience a peaceful morning rafting or canoeing on the Bow River for a relaxed adventure with mountain views.
  • Afternoon:
    • Free time to explore Banff further: Visit Lake Minnewanka or take the Banff Gondola for a panoramic mountain view.
    • Last-minute shopping for souvenirs or enjoy a relaxing lunch.
