Day 1: Arrival in Bentota

  • Arrival: Arrive at Colombo International Airport (Bandaranaike International Airport).
  • Transfer to Bentota: A 2-2.5 hour drive from Colombo to Bentota.
  • Hotel Check-in: Relax and enjoy the hotel amenities after your journey.
  • Evening:
    • Take a sunset stroll along Bentota Beach.
    • Relax with a beachfront dinner at your hotel or a local seafood restaurant.

Overnight: Bentota.

Day 2: Bentota – Beach Relaxation & Water Sports

  • Morning:
    • Enjoy water sports at Bentota Lagoon or Bentota Beach, such as:
      • Jet skiing
      • Banana boat rides
      • Windsurfing
      • Kayaking
  • Afternoon:
    • Visit Kosgoda Turtle Hatchery to see turtles being nurtured and released into the sea.
  • Evening:
    • Relax with some Ayurvedic spa treatments or a sunset cruise on the Bentota River.

Overnight: Bentota.

Day 3: Day Trip to Galle & Unawatuna

  • Morning: Drive to Galle (1 hour away).
    • Explore the Galle Fort (UNESCO World Heritage Site), including charming cobblestone streets, shops, and cafés.
  • Afternoon: Visit Unawatuna Beach (20 minutes from Galle) for swimming or a relaxing sunbath.
  • Late Afternoon: Stop by the Jungle Beach for a quiet retreat.

Day 4: Madu River Safari & Brief Garden

    • Explore Brief Garden by Bevis Bawa – a beautifully landscaped garden filled with art and sculptures.

Day 5: Day Trip to Colombo

  • Morning: Drive to Colombo (2 hours away).
    • Explore key attractions:
      • Gangaramaya Temple
      • Independence Square
      • Old Parliament Building
      • Galle Face Green – enjoy sea views.
  • Afternoon: Shopping at Pettah Market, Odel Mall, or Dutch Hospital Shopping Precinct.
  • Evening: Return to Bentota.

Overnight: Bentota.

  • By Taxi/Private Car:
    • Hire a taxi or a private car from Colombo or the airport for a direct and comfortable 2-hour drive to Bentota.
  • By Bus:
    • Buses from Colombo’s Pettah Bus Station to Bentota are available, though the journey can take around 2.5-3 hours.
