Day 4: Departure & Last-Minute Exploration

    • Explore any missed sights: If time permits, you can explore Badavi Linga, Elephant Stables, or Vithala Temple (if not already visited).
  • Afternoon:

    • Lunch: A light meal before departure.
    • Pack and Check-out: Prepare for departure, depending on your travel arrangements.
    • Departure: Transfer to the station or bus stop.

1. Best Time to Visit Hampi

  • Winter (October to February): This is the most ideal time to visit Hampi. The weather is pleasant, with cool evenings and comfortable days, making it perfect for sightseeing and outdoor activities.
  • Monsoon (June to September): While the landscape is lush and green, the heavy rainfall can make travel difficult and disrupt exploration. This season is less favorable for outdoor activities.
  • Summer (March to May): The temperatures can soar above 40°C, making it very hot to explore. If you don’t mind the heat, you can visit, but it is not recommended for comfortable travel.

2. How to Reach Hampi

  • By Air: The nearest airport is in Hubli (about 143 km away) or Bengaluru (350 km away). From there, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to reach Hampi.
  • By Train: The Hospet Junction (13 km away from Hampi) is the nearest railway station. Regular trains connect major cities like Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai to Hospet.
  • By Road: Hampi is well-connected by road, and you can reach it via NH 67. Buses from cities like Bengaluru, Hubli, and Hyderabad operate regularly. Renting a car or hiring a taxi is also a convenient option.
