Located in the state of Assam, in the northeastern region of India, it is situated along the foothills of the eastern Himalayas. Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Manas National Park

  2. Drive to Manas National Park
    • Journey to Manas National Park (approximately 4-5 hours drive from Guwahati).
    • Enjoy the scenic drive through tea gardens, villages, and rivers.
  3. Check-in at the Resort/Campsite
    • Accommodation at a comfortable resort or campsite near the park (based on your preference).
  4. Leisure Time
    • Settle in, enjoy the surroundings, and relax.
  5. Dinner & Overnight Stay
    • Traditional Assamese cuisine for dinner.
    • Overnight stay at the resort or campsite.

Day 2: Exploring Manas National Park

  1. Morning Safari
    • Early morning jeep safari to explore the park.
    • Opportunity to spot wildlife like tigers, elephants, rhinoceros, bison, and various bird species.
  2. Breakfast at the Resort/Campsite
  3. Nature Walk
    • Guided nature walk along the riverbanks or jungle trails to explore flora, fauna, and local culture.
  4. Lunch
    • A delicious local meal at the resort/campsite.
  5. Afternoon Safari or Visit to Bansbari Range
    • Either take another safari in the park or visit nearby Bansbari Range, which is known for its rich biodiversity.
  6. Evening Cultural Experience
    • Attend a local cultural performance or visit nearby villages to interact with indigenous communities.
  7. Dinner & Relaxation
    • Dinner with local delicacies.
    • Relax by the campfire or in the resort's lounge.
  8. Overnight Stay
    • Overnight at the resort or campsite.

Day 3: River Adventure and Wildlife Experience

  1. Early Morning Bird Watching
    • Start the day with an early morning bird-watching tour.
    • Spot exotic birds like the Great Hornbill, Bengal Florican, and other migratory species.
  2. Breakfast at the Resort/Campsite
  3. River Cruise or Rafting
    • Experience a thrilling river cruise on the Manas River, offering scenic views and potential wildlife sightings.
    • Alternatively, go for a short rafting experience if available.
  4. Lunch
  5. Afternoon Safari or Visit to Bhutan Border
    • Another safari in a different part of the park or explore the Bhutan border area and its surroundings.
  6. Evening Wildlife Viewing
    • Explore the park's wildlife in the evening and look for nocturnal creatures on a guided walk.
  7. Dinner & Overnight Stay
    • End the day with dinner at the resort/campsite.
    • Overnight stay at the resort/campsite.

Day 4: Village Visit and Departure

  1. Morning Safari (Optional)
    • If you’re interested, you can take one last morning safari or simply relax at the resort.
  2. Breakfast at the Resort
  3. Visit a Local Village or Tea Garden
    • Visit nearby villages to learn about the local culture and tea plantations.
  4. Check-out and Transfer to Guwahati
    • Check-out from your accommodation and drive back to Guwahati.
  5. Lunch on the Way
    • Stop for lunch at a local restaurant on the way back to Guwahati.
  6. Departure
    • Arrive at Guwahati Airport/railway station for your onward journey.
    • Trip ends with the hope to visit again!

Best Time to Visit:

  • Ideal months: November to April
    • Winter (November to February): The weather is pleasant, with cool temperatures, making it perfect for wildlife sightings.
    • Spring (March to April): The temperature rises slightly, and it’s still a great time to spot wildlife as animals are active before the monsoon season.
  • Avoid: May to October (Monsoon season)
    • The heavy rains can cause flooding and make the park difficult to access, while wildlife sightings may be limited.

How to Reach Manas National Park:

  • By Air:

    • Guwahati International Airport (about 176 km away) is the nearest major airport.
    • From Guwahati, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to the park.
  • By Train:

    • The nearest railway station is Barpeta Road Railway Station, located about 20 km from the park.
    • Guwahati Railway Station (around 176 km) is another option for reaching the park by train.
  • By Road:

    • Manas National Park is well-connected by roads, with buses and taxis available from Guwahati and other cities in Assam.
    • National Highway 27 connects the park to Guwahati, making it accessible by private vehicles or taxis.
