1. By Air:

  • Nearest Airport: The nearest airport to Pahalgam is Srinagar International Airport (SXR), which is approximately 95 km (2-3 hours drive) away from Pahalgam.
  • From Srinagar Airport to Pahalgam:
    • You can hire a taxi or book a private car to reach Pahalgam. Many hotels in Pahalgam also offer airport transfer services.
    • Shuttle services and private cabs are available for direct transfer to Pahalgam from Srinagar Airport.

Airlines: Srinagar is connected to major cities in India like Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, etc.


2. By Train:

  • Nearest Railway Station: The nearest major railway station to Pahalgam is Srinagar Railway Station (currently under development). The nearest operational railway station is Jammu Tawi Railway Station, which is about 270 km from Pahalgam.
  • From Jammu Tawi to Pahalgam:
    • Once you reach Jammu, you can hire a taxi or take a private car to Pahalgam. The road journey from Jammu to Pahalgam takes about 7-8 hours.

Alternatively, you can take a train to Srinagar Railway Station (once operational) and then take a taxi or private car to Pahalgam.


3. By Road:

  • From Srinagar to Pahalgam:

    • Pahalgam is 95 km from Srinagar, and the journey by road takes around 2-3 hours. You can hire a taxi, private car, or travel in a shared cab.
    • The Srinagar-Pahalgam Road is well-maintained and offers beautiful views along the way.
  • From Jammu to Pahalgam:

    • If you’re coming from Jammu, you can take a bus or hire a taxi. The drive takes about 7-8 hours.
  • Other Routes:

    • From Delhi: You can take an overnight volvo bus or hire a private car to Srinagar, and from there continue to Pahalgam by road.

4. Shared Taxis/Private Car:

  • Shared taxis are available between Srinagar and Pahalgam, which is a more budget-friendly option.
  • If you prefer comfort and privacy, a private car or taxi is the best option, especially for a more scenic and relaxed journey.

5. By Bus:

  • From Srinagar: Local buses connect Srinagar with Pahalgam. The journey by bus takes around 3-4 hours, depending on road conditions.
  • Private buses also operate from Srinagar to Pahalgam during the tourist season.
