Day 5: Departure & Last-Minute Exploration

    • If time allows, visit Kothandaramaswamy Temple, an off-the-beaten-path site believed to be the place where Vibhishana surrendered to Lord Rama.
    • Explore the nearby Lakshmana Tirtham before departure.
  • Afternoon:
    • Head to the Rameshwaram Bus Stand/Train Station for your onward journey.

      • The nearest airport is Madurai International Airport (IXM), about 175 km away. From there, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Rameshwaram.
      • Alternatively, you can fly to Trichy (Tiruchirappalli) Airport (TRZ), which is about 250 km away, and take a taxi or bus.
    2. By Train:

      • Rameshwaram Railway Station is well-connected to major cities like Chennai, Madurai, and Coimbatore. You can take a direct train to the station.
    3. By Road:

      • Rameshwaram is well-connected by road. You can take a bus from Madurai (3-4 hours) or Trichy (5-6 hours). Private taxis or self-driving are also popular options for reaching Rameshwaram.
