Day 1: Spiritual & Scenic Exploration

  • Triveni Ghat: After yoga, take a peaceful stroll around Triveni Ghat, enjoy the tranquil environment, and perhaps even dip your feet in the holy Ganges.

Late Morning:

  • Laxman Jhula: Visit the iconic Laxman Jhula suspension bridge. Cross it and explore nearby temples like Bhootnath Temple and Tera Manzil Temple.
  • Ram Jhula: Head to the Ram Jhula bridge, another significant landmark, where you can enjoy views of the river and surrounding hills.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch: Enjoy a riverside lunch at a local café such as The Chotiwala or Ganga Beach Café, where you can savor vegetarian delights.
  • Neelkanth Mahadev Temple: After lunch, take a short drive (12 km) to Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, set amidst lush greenery, and enjoy the peaceful vibes and scenic views.

Day 2: Adventure & Nature

Morning:

  • Rafting on the Ganges: Start your day with an adventurous activity like white-water rafting on the Ganges (available from Shivpuri or Brahmpuri). Enjoy the thrilling rapids and stunning natural surroundings.

Late Morning:

  • Visit the Beatles Ashram (Chaurasi Kutiya): After rafting, head to the Beatles Ashram, located in the lush forests near Rishikesh. This place has historical significance and is covered with graffiti and artwork by visitors inspired by the Beatles’ visit.

Afternoon:

  • Lunch: Enjoy lunch in one of the riverside cafes or local restaurants, such as The Café de Goa or Flavors Restaurant.
  • Neelkanth Viewpoint: If you have time, visit a nearby Neelkanth Viewpoint for panoramic views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.

Evening:

  • Sunset at Vashishta Gufa: Spend your evening at Vashishta Gufa, a peaceful cave on the banks of the Ganges where Sage Vashishta meditated. It's a perfect spot to meditate and enjoy the sunset.

Rishikesh is best visited during September to November (autumn) and March to May (spring), when the weather is cool, pleasant, and ideal for outdoor activities, yoga, and sightseeing. The summer months (March to May) offer a warm, yet manageable climate, especially around the Ganges, making it perfect for river activities like rafting. Monsoon season (June to August) can be risky due to heavy rainfall and the potential for landslides. Winters (December to February) are chilly but ideal for spiritual retreats and quiet time by the river.

How to Reach:

By Air: The nearest airport to Rishikesh is Jolly Grant Airport (Dehradun), located around 20 km away, well-connected to major cities like Delhi and Mumbai.

By Train: The nearest railway station is Haridwar Junction, about 25 km away, offering good connectivity to major cities like Delhi, Lucknow, and Mumbai. Rishikesh Railway Station also serves several trains from different parts of India.

By Road: Rishikesh is easily accessible by road from major cities like Delhi (240 km), Haridwar (25 km), and Dehradun (50 km). Regular buses, including Volvo services, operate from Delhi and nearby towns, and private taxis are readily available.
